Happy 4th Birthday Mattey

Today we celebrated Mattey's 4th birthday.  It's hard to believe that it's already been 4 years since she joined our family.  What a joy and a blessing she is.  She makes us laugh with her witty phrases.

She wanted to go and see the elephants on her birthday, so we took a trip to Brookfield Zoo in Chicago.  It was a beautiful day to be outside.  We had lunch there (dropping a small fortune for some not so great food), watched a Chinese parade (which included all of two things), watched the dolphin show (which seems to get shorter and shorter), and walked around looking at different animals (people included), and of course shopped (probably the girls favorite part) during the four hours that we spent at the zoo.  I said we had fun, didn't I?  The girls enjoyed it.

We then drove home and went out to eat at Applebee's where Mattey got some balloons and a free ice cream sundae.  When we finally arrived back home Mattey opened up the rest of her presents before we put the birthday girl to bed.  I'm too tired to post any pictures, but be sure to check back as I will post some.
