flickr Hightlight: Flag Flying at Mackinac Island

Originally uploaded by mstandiford

Our Bed and Breakfast had a little deck which was just a short distance from our room on the second floor. This provided a great spot to try and capture some nice photographs. This is probably one of the best shots from the many that I took. I love the flag flying as the main attraction with the grey clouds behind it and then the boats and other buildings filling in the rest.

Mackinac Island: A Rainy Event

In June (yeah that's right I'm trying to make my way up to current news), Kelly and I celebrated our 14th Anniversary by getting away from it all and staying on Mackinac Island. Our parents graciously took turns watching our children as we enjoyed some much needed rest and relaxation. We drove up on Sunday morning the 3rd and parked at the Shepler's Ferry. Here was the scene as we waited our Ferry to arrive.

Notice all the Rain Drops in the Water

That was to be a theme for the trip as it rained every day except for our last day there. Although this was the case we managed to get out and enjoy some of the island. We stayed at the Bay View Inn, a very nice bed and breakfast.

The Bay View

Kelly walked around loving the smell and look of all the Lilac Trees of which I have never seen so many before. We were served a very delicious dessert every night, which is always a way to win me over.

Despite the rain there was plenty of picture taking opportunities. Check out the Mackinac Island set on flickr.

Last Day of School

I finally posted a few pictures from the last day of school. When was that? Oh yeah like two months ago. The girl's bus driver (Miss Lisa) gave them each popsicles when they were getting off the bus and Mama was there to document the event.

flickr Highlight: One of My Favorite Photos

Originally uploaded by mstandiford

Combined Kelly and I have taken almost 13,000 pictures, well actually that’s the number of digital pictures we have kept. I’m sure the number we’ve taken is much higher than that.

This one of Kaden is probably one of my favorite. The colors are so rich and the smile is just precious.

Better Late Than Never

Finally I have selected a few of the pictures from Mattey's 6th birthday and posted them to our Flickr account.

17 Years and Counting

On July 2, 1990, who could have imagined that I was beginning employment for a company that I would still be employed by some 17 years later.  Shouldn't it almost be time to retire?
