Family Movie Night

We have not posted on this event in a long time.  We still do Friday night movies.  The choices are getting slim since we've been doing it for years now.  Last night we rented Mr. Bean's Holiday.  Megan has been wanting to see this one so we got it.  Let me just say Mr. Bean is not my favorite character so I probably won't give an unbiased review.  The movie started in English with them being in England.  Then he won a trip to southern France, Cannes.  Once he was on his way for the trip everything went to French, not my favorite language, and subtitles.  This made it really hard for me to follow along with the movie because I was trying to knit.  And I don't think Mat could read fast enough to keep up either.  She was done in the first half.  She did kind of stick around and saw the few funny scenes.  There weren't that many.  Over all I would say don't waste your time watching this one.

Mickey also rented Nacho Libre.  We have wanted to see it for a while now, ever since Mark and Janel were over quoting it.  And of course after seeing Janel's picture dressed up as Nacho we had to see it.  (Sadly she removed her picture.)  Jack Black was hilarious.  I can't believe how he can move his eyebrows.  We probably should have waited until tonight to watch it because we were both really tired when we started the movie.  I woke up some and laughed a lot.  I really like the fact that the movie took place in Mexico but they still spoke in an accented English.  I would say rent this one if you want a good laugh.

I'm glad you got to see the great Nacho and his disturbing sidekick in action. If I had only known, I would have mailed you the ruffly shirt, so you could have a proper costume movie party. Maybe next time...

I'm sure I could have gotten Mickey to pose for a picture or two in the shirt, although he'd probably be better at the sidekick. I think my hair would look better with the shirt. I could cut it just like Nacho's. Now that would be funny.

The sidekick? Get that corn out of my face!

Mickey told me yesterday that he wants to be Nacho in his wrestling outfit for Halloween. I better keep my eyes open for red and baby blue spandex. That will be an interesting costume to make. Thanks for the challenge, Sweetie.

Did you see Larry and Trine's blog? (http://kruegertimes.blogspot.com/2008/01/its-nacho-party.html) She made him a pretty sweet mask. I'm sure Kelly's up to the challenge.

The question is, can/will Mickey grow the curly fro? Going to the ward party dressed as Nacho might be as scandalous as wearing a Jack Sparrow earring!

I think he'll have to get a wig. He's got a buzz right now and I don't think curls will grow in, ever. Unless he wants to go the perm route again. (It's great knowing all about your husband's childhood.) I asked him if he would shave his chest but I don't think he will. The costume will probably be a full body one. Nice and stretchy.

Oh my, now we're hanging dirty laundry on the Internet? Things could get ugly around here. The earring just goes to show that I'm not afraid to shake things up a little. And rest assured that any picture (well maybe minus the aforementioned perm one) would be on the Internet to stay.

I'll believe that when I see it! I can't wait for Halloween. It might even justify a few plane tickets out to SB.
