Goals for 2008

I have been trying to get things organized in my brain and figure out what my goals for this year will be. I believe I've come up with a plan. (I know, it's about time since it's already the 10th of January.) I've decided I will do something everyday that benefits my body, mind, and spirit. I have a variety of things I can do which will probably help keep me going.

For body, since I already exercise 6 days a week I will have to come up with something different unless I increase or change my workout. I can eat better (meaning 5 fruits and veggies and less junky stuff), drink more water, or get to bed early (that's not happening tonight).

For mind I can practice the piano, work on Spanish, read an "educational" book, play Brain Age, or meditate. (Like meditating is really going to happen in this house of wild children.) I'm also working on de-cluttering the house. I know that doesn't really fall under the mind category but it will bring me peace of mind to know my house isn't a wreck and there's not a mess everywhere I look.

For my spirit I can study scriptures instead of just reading them, read/study the lessons for church, fast, sing hymns, or read the Ensign.

I'm also doing 2 layouts a week to get my scrapbooks more up to date. They'll never get totally caught up but I can try. (I'm almost done with my second one for the week. I'll try to remember to post some of the good ones.) If anyone has any other ideas let me know.

P.S. Commenting is not hard. All you have to do is register one time and if we know you then we will let you comment.

Sounds like some pretty good goals. I have been trying to come up with some ideas too. Thanks for sharing yours.

2 layouts a week for scrapbooking? Wow. And Ensigns, fruits/veggies and decluttering a house that's already spotless? You have a big year ahead of you, but you're the one to do it. I didn't notice any goals about coming to visit the Western United States again...did that one get left out?

Great goals Sweetheart! I hope to ride on your coat tails as you increase your overall well being. Maybe some of it will rub off on me. Hmm, a trip to the Western United States would mean a visit of a lot of states this year. We'll have to see how we could work that out, just for Janel.

I forgot to mention going to the temple too. And I should add I will try not to gripe and complain about the long drive and other inconvenient things.

Janel, my house may look clean but I know it's not. The living space is getting smaller and smaller by the day. I just need to get rid of some things. I might have to plan another birthday get away for this year. I really enjoyed it but I missed being with Mickey and the kids for my birthday. I'll have to work something out. We are planning a trip to Virginia right after school's out.

It IS hard to comment. . . when you forget both your username and password! I've been trying to figure it out for a few days now and finally did! :) I wanted to comment on previous posts- especially the pictures of Kade in his unders, so stinkin' cute! Anyway, onto more relevant things. . . Kelly- you are awesome about goals. I think I may copy your ideas here, I like the well-roundedness of it. It's the perfect idea, although I never would have come up with it. Someday I want to be just like you! Oh, and if you do head west, can AZ be a stop? We're itching for some real Canasta competition out this way! Or euchre, or Fill or Bust (did I tell you we bought that? Love it!), or spades, or Settlers, or anything else, really. Just come and we'll have a huge gamefest marathon. We're ready when you are! :)

Oh yeah, and if you come here the AZ Temple is a 10 minute drive from our house, so you could fill that goal too!

AZ sounds nice! Maybe we could just travel the United States this year. Now where does that fit into our goals?

Kelly, that's very tempting but I know it gets really, really hot there. You'll have to keep me hydrated and cool if I come. Mickey and I played Canasta the other day. I actually won. I don't know what the final score was because he didn't want to count all the cards I stuck him with when I went out. I'm usually the loser but I still fondly remember the 3200 point hand I had while pregnant with Kade. That was a great game.

We'll see what we can fit in. I would have to figure out how to do all those other things while we travel. That might get a little complicated.

Yeah, it's pretty darn hot in the summer, so you should just shoot for spring or fall! And we'll convince Janel to come at the same time- big party.
