Hot Dog

Kade's favorite word/expression these days is Hot Dog.  He's not referring to the things you eat in a bun.  One of the shows he watches while I workout is Mickey Mouse Club House.  At the end of the show the characters sing this Hot Dog song.  He doesn't really sing the song nor does he do the dance, he just says Hot Dog.  He calls any/everyone and any/everything Hot Dog at all hours of the day.  The girls really don't like being called Hot Dog.  (We're going through a name calling phase, I hope it's a phase, in our house right now and everything is offensive.)  I've tried to explain that Kade doesn't mean anything by it but that's not a comfort to them.  So here's your warning:  If Kade calls you a Hot Dog he's referring to the MMCH and coming from him it's probably a compliment.  So eat it up while he's still cute and not mean.  Hot Dog!

Sometime you just have to sit back and laugh at the things that kids come up with. This is definitely one of the funnier things, except when Hot Dog becomes part of a family prayer.

Hi Kelly! Kade is so cute! I read your post on my blog, and we definitely need to get together and play some DDR! I've never played Guitar Hero or Rock Band, but I think I'd be in love with them!

We'll talk more about Lost. :)

Cute Kade (or Superman)! Tucker was into that for a while too, but pronounced it "ha gog." Although he never called people that, just used it as an expression. I'm sure having older sisters to provoke has helped him really enjoy it!

It's really hard not to laugh when he says it during family prayer. Someone has to be the example while everyone else is cracking up.

And I do think getting a reaction from the girls is going to make Hot Dog stick around for a while.
