Last night I finished my 150th book for the year.  I don't know if that's a good thing or a bad thing.  Out of that 150 there were several I really enjoyed (so much so I read them a second time later in the year) and some not-so-good-ones I finished because I had to see how it turned out.  There was a series I enjoyed in the beginning but after about the 10th book was getting rather raunchy.

The book I finished last night was the first non-fiction, Three Weeks with My Brother by Nicholas and Micah Sparks.  I really enjoyed it and it's made me see (although I already knew) that I need to find balance in my life.  Stress, among other things, have plagued me this year and I realized I used reading as an escape.  It didn't start or end (the last few books) that way but the middle chuck was an escape from my life.  Next year I would like to read no more than 100 books and only escape for a couple hours at day's end as a reward for balancing the rest of life.

I want all my goals for next year to help me balance my crazy, stress-filled life.  I'll have to ponder how I'm going to accomplish that.

Christmas 2009

IMG_6866Merry Christmas from our family to yours.

To all those who are expecting a Christmas card from us, sorry.  I needed to reduce my stress load this year and that was one of a few things to not get done.  This lovely picture of us in our new Christmas jammies will have to do for now.

It's That Time of Year Again

Peanut Blossoms

(It's been so long since I posted anything I almost forgot how to do it.)
