150
Dec 26th, 2009 Posted in Kelly | one comment »Last night I finished my 150th book for the year. I don’t know if that’s a good thing or a bad thing. Out of that 150 there were several I really enjoyed (so much so I read them a second time later in the year) and some not-so-good-ones I finished because I had to see how it turned out. There was a series I enjoyed in the beginning but after about the 10th book was getting rather raunchy.
The book I finished last night was the first non-fiction, Three Weeks with My Brother by Nicholas and Micah Sparks. I really enjoyed it and it’s made me see (although I already knew) that I need to find balance in my life. Stress, among other things, have plagued me this year and I realized I used reading as an escape. It didn’t start or end (the last few books) that way but the middle chuck was an escape from my life. Next year I would like to read no more than 100 books and only escape for a couple hours at day’s end as a reward for balancing the rest of life.
I want all my goals for next year to help me balance my crazy, stress-filled life. I’ll have to ponder how I’m going to accomplish that.
