Presidents' Day

Do you do anything to celebrate Presidents' Day?  I mean besides hitting sales.  We didn't do any celebrating but the kids did enjoy a semi-lazy day off.  I had to make them do a chore.

I got a workout in and a hot bath.  Then I got to work on a bag order.  I have to have it done by Wednesday.  That shouldn't be a problem.

A while ago, I don't know how long really, I bought a walking foot to help me quilt the bags I make.  I couldn't get the darn thing to work.  So it got buried in my sewing supplies.  Well, when I was making the kids' quilts before Christmas I had to watch a video or two to make sure I knew what I was doing.  The quilting expert went on and on about how great it is to use a walking foot.  Right.  I did end up digging the thing out.  Come to find out I didn't install it right.  Duh.  Now I love it.  I used it today to work on the patchwork knitting bag I'm making.

I love these fabrics.  They're the same ones I used for Meg's quilt.
