Chore Chart

Saturday around here means payday.  The kids are paid for the chores they've done throughout the week.  I posted about this a while ago here.  I had come up with a chart of chores and then "laminated" it with contact paper.  In my opinion it didn't work very well.  The kids marked off chores with a check mark and when they were paid the chart got wiped clean.  The white erase marker didn't really come off.

Then one day I got a brilliant idea.  I went to Hobby Lobby (love that store) and bought a certificate frame (it was 50% off so I paid $6) and printed a new chart.  I put the chart inside the frame and hung it on the wall.  The plexiglass comes clean a lot better than the contact paper.  We also had to get some new fine point markers but it looks and works a lot better.

Now I need to figure out what I'm doing for the family home evening chart (I'm still using the lovely post-its) and that little wall will look nice.  I have two ideas I'm going back and forth on.  I want something simple and maybe something with our pictures instead of names.  I'm sure I'll decide soon and let you know.
